Arctec Services Pty Ltd designs, fabricates and installs stainless steel handrails, balustrades and architectural metalwork for builders, architects, facility managers, property managers and industrial operators across Melbourne and country Victoria. The company was registered in February 1994 and has worked out of Melbourne's northern suburbs ever since, first from a workshop in Thomastown and now from Bundoora, building a track record of more than 1,000 completed projects along the way.

What the workshop does
Handrails are the core, with welding, polishing and maintenance under the same roof.
Handrails and balustrades are the core of the business, but the workshop covers more ground than that. Welding, polishing and onsite maintenance all sit under the one roof, which means a project does not need to be handed between suppliers to get finished properly.
Welding
TIG, MIG and Arc welding across stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, handled in the workshop or onsite where suitable.
Peek Polish and restoration
Arctec's own stainless steel restoration and protection treatment, supported by onsite polishing and surface maintenance.
Onsite maintenance
Cleaning, repair and upkeep for stainless steel handrails, balustrades, fittings and architectural metalwork already in service.
Access and assisted living

How a project runs.
1. ConsultSend photos, drawings or a plain description of the problem. Material, finish and access requirements are worked through before pricing.
2. FabricateBuilt in the Bundoora workshop in stainless steel, aluminium or mild steel, with welding and polishing knowledge on hand to get the finish right.
3. Install and supportInstalled around the realities of a live site, then backed up afterwards with maintenance or repair if the job needs it later.
Built for real sites
Site details matter before the job starts.
Commercial and managed sites get induction, SWMS and insurance documentation sorted before work starts, and handrail or balustrade work is carried out with the relevant Australian Standards and access requirements in mind. That detail barely matters on a simple domestic install and matters a great deal on a job with staging, access windows or other trades to work around.

Hot-work considerations
Onsite welding and fabrication can be discussed before work starts so the right process is used for the site.

Handrails, balustrades and access work are approached with relevant Australian Standards, access requirements and project responsibilities in mind.
